If you’re looking for a place to pick up kosher round challah and honey cake for your High Holiday meals, The Challah Factory at the East Valley JCC has some sweet options for you.

Chef Melinda McNeil will be baking round challah (plain, raisin and chocolate chip) for the holidays, as well as honey cake, apple cake and mandel bread.

The EVJCC kitchen is under the kosher supervision of the Greater Phoenix Vaad Hakashruth.

Challah prices are $6 for challah, $6.50 for raisin and $7 for chocolate chip. Honey cake and apple cake are $10 each and mandel bread (12 pieces) are $8.

Pick-up dates are Sept. 7, Sept. 14 and Oct. 4.

The Challah Factory opened at the EVJCC in fall 2016 and offers fresh-baked challah, cookies and other baked goods each week. Chef Melinda also prepares pizza for the EVJCC’s Early Childhood Education Center and Camp Rimon, as well as meals for the EVJCC Speaker Series and other gatherings. Challah, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies and other baked goods can be ordered each week here.
