Painting with Watercolors

Begins Tuesday, Sept. 10

Join impressionism artist Tal Dvir for a workshop where students will learn stages of sketching, drawing and painting with watercolors. Students will observe still-life objects and landscape photos, as well as learn about the proper use of drawing tools and watercolor paints and techniques from the masters. The workshop is for all levels. 

Class dates: 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays

Sept. 10, 17 * Oct. 29 * Nov. 5, 12, 19

Cost is $120 for all six classes. Students bring their own materials, a supply list will be provided. 

 

Tal Dvir started drawing and painting as a child and at age 16 was admitted to the prestigious Witzo School of Art in Tel Aviv. From 1989 to 1994, Tal attended Meimad and Kalisher visual art schools, also located in Tel Aviv. He studied under several accomplished local artists and then moved with his family to the U.S. in 2006. His work has been displayed in Tel Aviv, California and Arizona. Yiddish Music Classes

The collection of Yiddish music is vast, rich and vibrant and is still being written today. Join Sandra Bernoff on an exploration of Yiddish music, old and new. Listen to recordings of the songs while learning the translation and history of the songs.

Sandra Charyn Bernoff has a bachelor’s degree in Yiddish literature and education and a master’s degree in education and has taught in both public schools and after-school religious schools. She served as the director of education in two Conservative synagogue religious schools and taught Yiddish to children and adults in Arizona, New Jersey and New York.  She was on the founding committee of Yugntruf, the international Yiddish magazine and social group, and serves as the “elder” of the monthly Yiddish group at Temple Solel in Paradise Valley.
