Tuesdays, 10-11:30 a.m. at the East Valley JCC
Tuesdays at the J is a group for individuals and couples ages 55-plus who meet weekly to enjoy presentations on a variety of topics. Past programs have included live musical performances by local musicians and art presentations by museum docents and artists, as well as presentations by authors and more. All sessions are free and no membership is required. The program starts at 10 a.m. with refreshments and the presentations are 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Do you ever wonder how a piece of artwork came to be displayed in a museum? Join Docent Liz Smith as she unravels the hows and whys of some of Phoenix Art Museum’s most loved works of art. Travel back in history to the very first painting the Museum purchased and the story of how it all came about. Learn how circumstance and opportunity can be as critical to an artist as inspiration. You may never look at a piece of art in the same way without first wondering about its backstory.
