Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten

The Barness Family JCC would like to be your "Home Away from Home" for your child. Our developmental appropriate program, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children NAEYC, provides excellent preschool and pre-kindergarten classes, which have enjoyed a fine reputation in the Valley since its inception in 1972. (NAEYC Accreditation Brochure) We strive to provide the best possible environment for children outside of their own homes and to build a partnership between our families and our program.

The Early Childhood Learning Center Program is a non-sectarian, community preschool and pre-kindergarten. Our programs offer comprehensive and challenging secular education combined with an introduction to Judaica. Children are encouraged to work at their own speed to achieve success and self-confidence.

Preschool

We are proud to offer a complete preschool program for children as young as two to four years in age. Our "Twos" classes meet in rooms with diaper changing facilities and bathrooms.

Our pre-kindergarten classes (4 year old) offer a full-day (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) program.

Not only do we follow NAEYC professional standards but our curriculum also is in line with Arizona Early Learning Standards preparing your child for kindergarten and beyond.

Throughout all levels of our preschool, large classrooms contain learning centers which present opportunities to think, explore, create, experiment and discover. Through these activities, children gain self-reliance, independence, new skills and the ability to follow direction, solve problems, resolve conflict and make decisions.

A balance of group learning time, creative expression through language and art, active outdoor play and independent discovery provides children with a program geared to help them develop self-confidence, creativity and experience success.
