Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten

The Barness Family Jewish Community Center would like to be your "home away from home" for your child. Our developmental appropriate program, guided by the high standards and criteria of NAEYC, provides excellent preschool and pre-kindergarten classes, which have enjoyed a fine reputation in the Valley since its inception in 1972. We strive to provide the best possible environment for children outside of their own homes and to build a partnership between our families and our program.

The Early Childhood Learning Center Program is a non-sectarian, community preschool and pre-kindergarten. Our programs offer comprehensive and challenging secular education combined with an introduction to Judaica. Children are encouraged to work at their own speed to achieve success and self-confidence.

Preschool

We are proud to offer a complete preschool program for children as young as two to five years in age. Our "Twos" classes meet in rooms with diaper changing facilities and bathrooms.

Our pre-kindergarten classes (4 year olds) offer a full-day (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) program.

Throughout all levels of our preschool, large classrooms contain learning centers which present opportunities to think, explore, create, experiment and discover. Through these activities, children gain self-reliance, independence, new skills and the ability to follow direction, solve problems, resolve conflict and make decisions.

A balance of group learning time, creative expression through language and art, active outdoor play and independent discovery provides children with a program geared to help them develop self-confidence, creativity and experience success.
