Before & After School Care
At the Barness Family Jewish Community Center, we offer a variety of childcare and enrichment programs for children. Our services include Early Bird and Lunch Bunch, an extended before- and after-school childcare program, as well as many exciting after school enrichment classes.
Early Bird and Lunch Bunch
A before- and after-school childcare program is available for children who are 2 years of age by September 1st. Our Early Bird and Lunch Bunch programs provide stimulating, creative and active forms of exercise, play and learning.
Children are placed in groups by age and participate in activities geared to their needs. Indoor and outdoor play, interest centers, storytelling, arts and craft projects, housekeeping and dress-up areas, free-choice play and an afternoon rest period are part of the extended day program.
Children enrolled in afternoon care bring lunch from home.
After School Enrichment Classes
A wide variety of after school enrichment classes are offered each semester at an additional charge. These include:
- Gymnastics
- Karate
- Fun & Fitness
- Dance
- Computers
- Music
- Chess Club
- Drama
- Science
- Cooking
Rates are set by individual instructors and vary from program to program. Check with for this semester's offerings and fees.
The Early Bird/Lunch Bunch program is available
from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Monday through Friday.
