Mayor Tibshraeny Interviews World War II Colonel Edward Shames

Mayor Jay Tibshraeny interviews 89-year-old World War II Colonel Edward Shames on his television show “Chandler Inside & Out” airing on Chandler Channel 11 and the city’s website at

Colonel Shames served as a member of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment and Easy Company. The name Easy Company may sound familiar to some as it was made famous by the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers.

Shames was in Chandler for a one-time only speaking engagement for the Holocaust & Tolerance Museum being built in Chandler.  Mayor Tibshraeny interviewed him about his experiences during the war and at the concentration camp, Dachau.

“Chandler Inside and Out” is a monthly show airing on the city’s Cable Channel 11 hosted by Mayor Tibshraeny focusing on current events and topics of interest to Chandler residents as he interviews local, regional and state leaders.
